It’s now day 2 of The PADI IDC Gili Islands and the Instructor candidates Dave, Sarah, Etienne and Greg are taking part in the skill circuit. Although they have all become proficient in their skills during their Divemaster Course, we conduct further sessions during the IDC Course to make sure their skills are not only up to demonstration standard, but over and above the standard required in industry when demonstrating the skills to students.
During the Gili IDC Indonesia course all of the PADI skills are practiced and perfected. Trawangan Dive, as a PADI Career Development Center (CDC) can offer the best facilities available for conducting instructor level training programs, and our Course Director can help candidates to become true leaders and ambassadors for the PADI educational system.
Candidates are usually very confident and proficient in the skill circuit so it is merely a matter of perfecting and fine tuning the skills in a way that they can be easily and effectively delivered to their future students. So whist the skill circuit workshop is a very serious element of the course, it can also be fun. To see students in action during their skill circuit, check out the PADI IDC Gili Islands Facebook where you will find photos of all the past IDC skill circuits conducted by the Gili IDC Indonesia.
Although the skill circuit is important, it is only a small part of the Instructor Development Course and in fact there are many more areas in which candidates need to develop in to efficiently deliver PADI programs to future students. The Gili IDC Indonesia is about training people to be highly professional scuba diving instructors, whilst at the same time being able to deliver the PADI programs using fun and easy to understand methods.
