If you’re thinking of taking your PADI IDC and looking to become a highly trained PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, The Gili IDC, here in the Gili Islands Indonesia is the way to go. The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) runs every month at our 5 star Career Development Centre (CDC) in Gili Trawangan.
Before candidates arrive for the course one of the most common questions is “shall I book my flight to Bali or Lombok”?
Although Gili Trawangan is closer to Lombok we still get a very clear view of Bali and its towering volcano from our sunset point view. Many of our IDC candidates will tend to arrive in Bali and take the fast boat across to the Gili Islands. The boat journey is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Bali, dependent upon which service you are taking and of course dependent upon where you are staying in Bali there is the transport time to the ferry terminal.
Arriving through Lombok International Airport is much more convenient for the Gili Islands, but it is a much newer airport and therefore it may be easier the find a flight though the long established Bali International Airport, or you may simply wish to see Bali on the way.
So if you want to arrive in the shortest time possible booking your flight to Lombok would be an advantage, however you may wish to visit Bali on your way or maybe the flight is much cheaper.
On the other hand there are also connecting flights from Bali to Lombok and the journey is only 20 minutes allowing you to see Bali whilst also avoiding the traveling time constraints.
We here at the Gili IDC run PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC) every month and are always willing to help our IDC graduates find work across Indonesia and beyond. We run a 10+ day PADI IDC schedule at a highly competitive price of €950 Euro including the EFRI Course.
We have produced a Full PDF IDC Brochure which is fully downloadable and includes everything you need to know about our PADI IDC Program. To download the IDC Indonesia Brochure simply click here.
