The Gili Islands PADI Instructor Exam will be held here in Gili Trawangan on 28th and 29th January. A PADI Examiner will travel from Australia to the Gili Islands to assess the candidates in confined water presentations, open water presentations, dive skills, theory, and rescue skills.
In previous years candidates from the Gili Islands would have to travel to alternative locations such as Bali to take the exam, but now PADI has recognized Gili Trawangan as one of the main center’s for PADI Career Development and has therefore scheduled the PADI I.E to take place in the Gili Islands.
Over the last year Trawangan Dive, its career development team and our candidates have been a feature of each and every I.E on the Gili Islands. The PADI I.E here in the Gili Islands is great for us as our candidates can relax and prepare for the exam without having to travel to alternative locations such as Bali to sit the exam which would not only increase stress levels but would mean an extra expense in time and money.
We currently have 4 candidates who will be sitting the PADI Instructor Exam this month in Gili Trawangan. Following the PADI I.E they will take the Emergency First Response Course and then begin their career as PADI Instructors.
The Gili IDC Indonesia operates at Trawangan Dive, the only PADI Career Development Center in the Gili Islands and offers a range of career orientated programs and is designed for people looking for the perfect start in the recreational diving industry. The course operates over a 10 day period and costs 950 Euro. Our PADI Course Director has worked in a variety of scuba related roles and in a variety of locations worldwide and is able to advise candidates about what to expect from their future careers and of course what will be expected from their potential employers.
